CCEM Homeschooling Academy’s Open House

Calvary Chapel El Monte Homeschooling Academy recently hosted an “Open House”. CCEM Homeschooling Academy hosts these events which take place during our Midweek service, to display our student’s work and projects. It also displays what classes are being provided by CCEM Homeschooling Academy. Our overseers, teachers, parents, and students work hard on their class displays and projects. The Church Blog is blessed to even have the opportunity to interview the overseers and ask them a few questions about “Open House.”

Homeschooling Academy Board Member Interviews

Interviewing: Rebecca Barajas

Why is Open House an important event?

It’s an opportunity for our students to showcase their hard work, interest, and character. It’s also a great communication channel between the church and the homeschooling academy.

Why is this event special to you?

As a mother of three daughters and as an individual who has homeschooled their own children, I believe this event is a very important platform to give God all glory and to display all his children works.

How was it running/organizing the Open House Event this year?

Honestly I am astonished and amazed on the Homeschooling Board and Homeschooling Moms; these people put their everything into this event to glory God and to showcase God’s children. Each student presents their own work, such as projects, crafts, and art at this event. The staff of the Homeschooling Academy are wonderful and such a huge blessing to the Homeschooling Ministry. Without these individuals the event would not run as smoothly as it did this past year. Usually my mother, Rebecca Barajas is in charge but due to recent health issues; she had asked me to fill in for her and absolutely flabbergasted by the work all the women put in every year. The hours that are put in and the time and effort to not only present the children but also the homeschooling teachers and the classes they teach.

I can’t stress how much I was blessed and impressed by the homeschooling staff. Not only did they help the event but made everything possible. I love how the homeschooling academy group works a unit. The bond and love among this group puts a smile on my face and warms my heart.
