Men’s Retreat 2019

This past weekend, September 13-15, close to 60 men went up to the San Bernardino Mountains, to Twin Peak Christian Conference Center for our annual Men’s Retreat. This year was an absolute blessing, especially for the guys who went with us for the first time.

The theme of this year’s conference was the “Battle Cry” out of Judges 6-8. Through the life of Gideon, we looked at how God calls, cleanses, cuts, conquers, and crowns us as Christian men.

We were blessed to welcome El Monte raised, Pastor Ryan Hussein from Calvary Chapel Sweet Hills in Banning, as our guest speaker.

As always the Twin Peaks Conference Center is a great place to be – the facility, staff, and of course, the food is fantastic, but the Word and fellowship are still the highlights every year. If for some reason you weren’t able to go with us this year, seriously pray about making plans to go next time, if the Lord wills.

Marriage Retreat

The theme of the retreat was “A Deeper Love.” It was a great time to get away with our spouses to seek the Lord together, endeavoring to grow in our marriages! Our guest speaker was Pastor Dale Goddard from Calvary Chapel Golden Springs, and we were also blessed to have Michael and Golden Preciado leading us in worship.

Men’s Retreat

Calvary Chapel El Monte’s 2013 Annual Men’s Retreat was an absolute blessing. We had over 40 men go up to the mountains of Twin Peaks – for almost half of them, this was their first retreat – ever! We again teamed up with Calvary Chapel LAX who also took 40 brothers.

We had the privilege of welcoming Pastor Dan Finfrock of Intensive Care Ministries as our guest speaker. Pastor Dan who is a football coach, a long time pastor, and missionary taught us the importance of being, “Men of the Playbook.” He stressed the importance that, like an athlete who should know, breathe, and live their playbook, we should do the same with God’s Book, His Word.

As always the staff and the food at the retreat were top notch, but the highlight of the weekend was the fellowship. We believe that God did an amazing work in establishing brotherhood bonds between the guys. If for some reason you weren’t able to go with us this year, we pray you make plans to join us next year, if the Lord tarries.
